A natural actress and a talented pop artist, Lindsay Lohan is a name which does not need any introduction in show business. She stepped into the glittering world of modeling at age three as a Ford model, and also made appearances in over sixty television commercials, including spots for The Gap, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, and Jell-O. At age ten, she began her acting career in a soap opera; at eleven, she made her motion picture debut by playing both twins in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap.
Lindsay Lohan was born in New York City and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island in New York. The acting bug runs in the entire family. She is the eldest child of Michael and Dina Lohan, both former actors. Alle her three younger siblings are into modelling and acting.

Lindsay Lohan became a regular subject of tabloid media after reports of a catfight with Hilary Duff in 2003 over their relationships with singer Aaron Carter. Lohan's three car accidents in 2005 made headlines. Lindsay Lohan was voted #10 on the list of "100 Sexiest Women" by readers of FHM. Maxim placed her at #3 on its 2006 Hot 100 list.
However, the actress has not been on the healthier side. Lindsay Lohan spent about two days at a Miami, Florida, hospital after suffering a serious asthma attack in January 2006. In July 2006, Lindsay Lohan was taken to a hospital while shooting Georgia Rule, complaining that she was "overheated and dehydrated". On 15 September 2006 she fractured her wrist after she fell at a Fashion Week party in New York City. She underwent emergency surgery to remove her appendix on January 4, 2007. On Jan 17, 2007, Lindsay Lohan entered rehab at an undisclosed location "to take care of my personal health," asking that the media "please respect my privacy at this time."
Lohan’s idols are Marilyn Monroe and Ann-Margret. In her spare time, Lindsay Lohan enjoys swimming, basketball, shopping, singing, reading, writing, gymnastics, collecting Beanie Babies, roller-blading, and playing with her siblings Ali Lohan, Dakota and Michael Lohan.
