Scarlett Johansson (born November 22, 1984) is an American actress.
Johansson is of Danish and Polish descent, and 5 feet, 4 inches high. The granddaughter of writer Ejner Johansson, she graduated from The Professional Children's School in Manhattan, New York City in 2002.
Her roles include Grace MacLean in The Horse Whisperer, Rebecca in Ghost World, Charlotte in Lost in Translation, and Griet in Girl with a Pearl Earring, all of which garnered positive critical notices, as well as Francesca in The Perfect Score. She was nominated for two best actress awards at the Golden Globes in 2003, one for drama (Girl with a Pearl Earring) and one for comedy (Lost in Translation); similarly, she was nominated for best actress for both films at the BAFTAs, and won best actress for Lost in Translation. She is the voice of Mindy in the upcoming The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
She has sometimes been credited as Scarlett Johansen or Scarlett Johanssen.
